Preferential Treatment for Least Developed Countries

At the Eighth Ministerial Conference in 2011, WTO members agreed to allow deviation from the most-favoured-nation (MFN) principle, so that preferential treatment can be granted to services and service suppliers from LDCs. The objective is to ensure that LDCs can secure a share in the growth in international trade commensurate with the needs of their economic development. Responding to this decision, HKC has offered various preferences to LDC service suppliers.
